  • What makes a meal "balanced" anyway?
    First and foremost, we believe all foods fit. We don't promote cutting out anything from your diet unless medically necessary, and we fully believe in enjoying everything in moderation. We use evidence-based nutrition information to craft our meals, rather than following trendy diets. Here are a few things we prioritize in our meals: FIBER Most Americans aren't getting enough! We are sure to add at least one serving of fruits and/or vegetables into each meal. Fiber helps with digestive health, can help prevent heart disease, and keeps you fuller longer. PROTEIN We are sure that each meal provides enough protein to make sure your meal "sticks" with you. The minimum amount of protein in any meal is 15 grams, however, most have 20 - 35 grams. HEALTHY CARBOHYDRATES Contrary to many fad diets out there, carbohydrates ARE essential for good health. We make sure to prioritize whole grain, high-fiber carbohydrates whenever possible. HEALTHY FATS We often make homemade dressings, cook with olive oil, and use nuts and seeds to provide all kinds of heart-healthy fats; to limit fats that can harm the heart overtime, we limit animal fats and saturated fats.
  • How do I place an order?
    The menu changes weekly and is available on our website from Sunday at 10 AM - Wednesday at noon. Select the meals you'd like and the sizes and then complete your checkout! There is no minimum order, so order as many or as little as you'd like!
  • When and where do I pick up my meals?
    Our primary pickup location is at Old Orchard Fitness in Jackson, MO (Address 2630 Old Orchard Rd). Any meals ordered will be available for pickup the NEXT WEEK Monday* from 7-8:30 AM or 4-6:30 PM. If this pickup time doesn't work for you, no biggie. We will bag your meals up and you can pick them up Tuesday-Friday from 5-9 AM or 4-6:30 PM. Click HERE for details on Perryville Pickup. *If you order Sunday, please note that your meals will be available the NEXT Monday, not the next day.
  • Do you offer low carb options?
    Our Small Plate size is lower in carbs than our Full Plate size. While we don't offer specifically low-carb meals, you can request to customize some meals by asking to leave off the starch side. For example, our Cashew Chicken meal comes with rice and veggies, but you can request to receive no rice. Just click "add a note" at checkout. We are happy to accommodate your requests whenever possible!
  • I have an allergy. Can I order from you?
    We list all common allergens under the description of each meal when the menu is up, and we list them on the label. If you have an allergy, please click "add a note" at checkout and tell us your allergy - EVEN if you are ordering a meal that does not list that allergen. We just like to be aware! If you have any questions, please reach out to us. Please note, all meals are prepared in a facility that contains all common allergens, such as milk, eggs, shellfish, peanuts, and more. Meals titled "gluten free" are made without any gluten-containing ingredients. They are still prepared in the same facility as gluten-containing meals.
  • How do I earn and redeem loyalty points?
    For every $100 you spend at Balanced Meal Prep, you get $5 off your next order! To earn points, you simply have to create an account with our website, and it will track points for you. To redeem, make sure you are logged in to your account and click the purple icon at the bottom left corner of the screen. You must be on the website itself, not the mobile app to see this purple icon. This purple icon will show you your points and give you the option to receive a coupon code to redeem your points if you're eligible. You can then copy/paste that code at checkout.
